Carlee's Perspective

It is a tradition for all the girls who live in the Chi Omega house during their sophomore year to set each other up on a blind date. On one night, all 40 of us got sent away with a guy, most of whom we had never met. All I knew about my date beforehand was that he was tall, a great Christian man, and drives a "sexy" truck haha. He picked me up and took me back to his cousin's house, where he cooked me a private steak meal, then we went to Poet's to play a few rounds of pool. I remember really enjoying the date and was over the moon when he asked me out again a few days later. It wasn't until our third date that I was able to break out of my shell and figure out that there was something super special about this guy. We started officially dating a month later, and each month since has gotten better!

Now, two years later, I can confidently say that Will has truly changed my life for the better and has molded me into the woman I am today. His commitment to those he loves, confident but gentle spirit, and unwavering faith has led me closer to the Lord in unmeasurable ways. Will is my absolute best friend, and no matter what we are doing together, I am always having the time of my life. I can't wait to finally join together as husband and wife and love each other all the days of our lives!

Will's Perspective

As any competent man knows… sorority blind dates are a scam. During my sophomore year, I was aware of this knowledge and had already said no to the Chi O blind date. However, one of my best friends, Jace, repeatedly called me trying to get me to go with a different girl, named Carlee Miller. He eventually convinced me, and we schemed a story of why I could go with Carlee and not the previous girl I had said no to. Unlike most of the time, I was very thankful for Jace’s persistence and determination!

For our date, I cooked her a steak meal, and we went to a pool bar after. I remember having such a great time as well as having some amazing conversations about our families. I could tell she was a very hard worker and a very genuine girl who was fun to hang with, plus she was also hot, so I asked her out a few days later!

Throughout our time dating, I learned quickly that this girl was a keeper. Most importantly, she loves the Lord more than she loves me and pushes me in my faith every day. She is also beautiful inside and out, and I always have more fun hanging out with her than any other person. Fast forward a year and a half, and I proposed (definitely the best day of my life). I am so thankful that the Lord blessed me with Carlee- she is the most kind, gentle, funny, and thoughtful girl in the world. I can’t wait to marry her soon!

Luckily for me, this blind date was far from a scam!
